The village of Vyroneia belongs to the municipality of Sintikis with a population of 971 people according to Population Census (2011). It lies north-east from the lake Kerkini. The village has an easy access as the National Road Serres-Kilkis passes through it.
A truce between Greece and Bulgaria was signed in 1913 near the Railway Station of Vyroneia. The village is also famous for the Aquarium where the visitor can see the native fish speciesof the lake Kekrini and the river Strymonas as well as some reptiles.
The church of Vyroneia is named after St. Peter and Paul.
